Ancient roots and modern dreams
Consuelo Alfieri, 28 years old, born in the heart of Salento and raised in the charming town of Palmariggi. She is a talented singer and musician who has dedicated her life to music, starting her artistic journey at the age of 7, when she began studying accordion and tambourine. The influence of "Nonna Tunata" (Grandmother) guided her towards traditional popular music, enriching her repertoire with songs written in Salento dialect and Italian.
Over the years, Consuelo has had the honor of being the leader of the groups "Ta-koràssia" and "Passione Taranta", with which she had the opportunity to perform on board Costa Crociere. Her growing notoriety also led her to appear on the stage of the Raiuno television program "I soliti ignoti" in 2019.
A crucial moment in his career was joining the Orchestra Popolare della Notte della Taranta, where he collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Dardust, Madame, Elodie, Marco Mengoni, Stromae, Elisa, Giuliano Sangiorgi, and many others. These experiences have enriched her musical background and provided her with a unique vision of the contemporary music scene.
In 2022, Consuelo begins her solo journey with the SIROCO project in collaboration with Giuseppe Astore, culminating in 2023 with the release of her first album entitled "Porte a punente". This work represents a fusion of traditional and modern influences, reflecting his artistic identity.
The song “Pizzica di Aradeo” was selected for the fiction “La vita che voli”, available on Netflix, where Consuelo appears together with her band, bringing Salento popular music to an even wider audience.
In December 2023, his dedication and talent were rewarded with first place at the Folk and World Award and the absolute Nuovo Imaie award, confirming himself as one of the most promising and innovative voices in the panorama of World music.
